ACT in Action: Project Areas
The following are reviews of selected recent projects. Over the next month, ACT will be adding reviews of past projects that exemplify each area of study. You'll be able to read about the original situation, what ACT was asked to do, and the concluding results. As projects are added, the titles of each area will become a link to that project review.
- Civil Society Development: The development and management of non-governmental organizations and the role of civil society in social change and conflict.
- Community Building: Work with police, community leaders, local government, media, and educators to cooperatively solve problems and envision a better future.
- Education and Youth: Training in conflict analysis, resolution, prevention, and related areas, and dissemination of related information.
- Ethnic Conflict: Crisis intervention, and post-conflict peacebuilding in escalated, intra-state, identity conflicts.
- Intercultural Relations: Strengthening the abilities of organizations and communities to work well with growing cultural diversity.
- Organizational Learning: Conflict resolution systems design, visioning, teambuilding, and change management to support effective organizational learning.
- Regional Specializations: Balkans, Caucasus, Central and Eastern Europe, Central Asia, Latin America, Middle East, United States, and Pacific Rim.
- Research: Building conflict resolution related knowledge and disseminating knowledge to the field.
