Summer Institute on Peacebuilding & Conflict Resolution 2008

ACADEMIC CREDIT

The course will be held in English, 9am-5pm Monday-Friday (with 1-2 hours for lunch), with some evening and weekend activities. Participants will also have ample free time to see local sites and sample local entertainment.

Participants may take the course for credit or non-credit as follows:

Non-credit:

Participants will receive a Certificate of Completion (non-credit) for participation in all seminars and activities. The Certificate will have an official seal and signatures from Nur University and the Alliance for Conflict Transformation.

Credit:

Participants will receive both a Certificate and an official Transcript for 6 graduate (or undergraduate) credits from Nur University for participation in all seminars and activities and upon satisfactory completion of all course assignments (e.g., final exam, group projects, writing assignments).* The Transcript will state the course taken, credits earned and grade obtained.

The credits received for the IPCR course taken at Nur University can be transferred into credits at your home-university. However, it is essential that you consult with your academic advisor, academic department, and study abroad department at your home university to ensure that the IPCR course at Nur University meets their requirements for awarding credit before you come to the program.

ACT and Nur University will be glad to work with students and home universities to do what is necessary to achieve academic recognition for the IPCR course taken at Nur.

* Note: Participants from South American universities will receive a Certificate and may be eligible to receive undergraduate credits (to be determined by Nur University).
