Giselle Huamani Ober is originally from Peru, and is a conflict resolution specialist working with communities on issues of race relations, violence, community planning and development, dialogues and reconciliation throughout the urban areas in the United States, Latin American and the world.  She has designed, developed, implemented and facilitated conflict resolution interventions and training programs for different sectors in society such as indigenous people, rural and day-labor workers, gangs, NGOs leaders, teachers, community and political leaders, diplomats, etc., in diverse settings including local political leaders in E. Timor, women from Bosnia-Herzegovina, journalists from SouthEastern Europe, and rural communities in Guatemala.

Giselle is currently the Conflict Resolution Specialist at SNV Development Organization, a Dutch organization. She worked in Bolivia for two years from and since early 2006 continues to work for SNV in Peru.

A past Project Director with the Alliance for Conflict Transformation, Giselle is also a PhD candidate at the Institute for Conflict Analysis and Resolution (ICAR) at George Mason University, where she has taught at the graduate level. Currently she is the coordinator of the Latin American Caribbean Working Group at ICAR and the chair for the Latin American Peace Network of Peace Builders at the Network of Communities on Peacemaking and Conflict Resolution.
