  • Skills, Networks & Knowledge: Developing a Career in International Peace and Conflict Resolution, by Dr. Craig Zelizer (Senior Partner, ACT) and Dr. Linda Johnston (Director, Conflict Management Program at Kennesaw State University). This report is the first to survey employers regarding career opportunities within international peace and conflict resolution. It will be of interest to employers, to students and professionals pursuing a career in this field, and to the academic and professional organizations that seek to prepare them.

ACT interviewed 55 employers involved in international and peace and conflict resolution work, including leading non-profit organizations, US government agencies, international organizations, foundations and universities.  The report focuses on what skills and type of experience individuals need to develop a successful career in the field. A resource section for job seekers is included.

The research was supported by a grant from the Alliance for Peacebuilding (formerly Alliance for International Conflict Prevention and Resolution).

The report can be downloaded for free as a PDF document by clicking on the title or download link below. Paper copies of the report are available from ACT for $10 plus shipping and handling. To order a report fill out the Report Order Form.
